There’s more to life than books, you know, but not much more. —Morrissey
Books are all I know and everything I love.
The Old Library at St John’s College, a constituent college of the University of Cambridge, dates back to 1624 and houses the college’s collections of rare books, manuscripts, personal papers of past members, photographs, artifacts, and maps.

Books are the plane, and the train, and the road. They are the destination, and the journey. They are home.
Keibunsha Bookstore~Kyoto, Japan
Store hours: everyday, 10am-10pm
Keibunsha is in the Ichijoji district in Kyoto. It’s a bookstore, gift shop, crafts store and art gallery in one. I read that the books are mostly about culture, art and design. Since I can’t read in Japanese, I’d go there just to smell the books and check out the arts and crafts :) Anybody who has been here?
“Treat books gently; for ‘books are kind friends. We benefit by their advice, and they exact no confessions.’”
Hints to Book Collectors, from A Manual of the Art of Bookbinding, 1856.
Be gentle.
Fill yourself up with love instead of hate. Fill yourself up with art, books, knowledge, experiences. Surround yourself with people who have nothing but love to give.
These things are important. They will help you learn how to love.
You may have in a house costly pictures and costly ornaments, and a great variety of decoration; yet, so far as my judgment goes, I would prefer to have one comfortable room well stocked with books to all you can give me in the way of decoration which the highest art can supply… In the houses of the humble a little library, in my opinion, is a most precious possession.
